Nvidia settings are not available

Try downloading GeForce Experience from the Nvidia website and get the latest drivers and updates, then reboot and check again to see if you can make changes to the Nvidia control panel like you want. Remember: If you are not comfortable going into your BIOS you can always contact Acer support at (866) 695-2237 US and Canada Using a VGA to HDMI converter as well as an HDMI port on the graphics card can be a good option.

Go into your BIOS to make sure your laptop is not set to use the onboard integrated Intel graphics processor as default. After connecting the display cable to your graphics card, if you still find the NVIDIA Display settings are not available then change the output of the adapter. The 'display' options for which the scaling is located in the Nvidia control panel is not needed since the Intel driver handles that part at this point. In the Nvidia control panel, you should only have 3D and video options. Hence no option in the Nvidia control panel. You do not have the option in the Nvidia control panel since the Intel driver/graphics processor might be the default processor to handle video scaling. You have an Acer 'Helios' system with an Intel HM175 motherboard which means you have an integrated/built-in Intel Graphics Processor and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.

I don't think your 'problem' is a problem at all but its the nature of your machine. I looked on the internet and here's what I found.
